Washington County Community Action Council, Inc. was created in 1965 as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty” and the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. Since its inception, the CAC has continued its mission to increase the capacities of individuals and groups to deal with their own problems without the need of further assistance.
